Dear Christian women in Christ, allow me to share a little bit about myself. My name is Katy Chamberlin. I have been a free-lance writer and medical literature researcher for over thirty-five years. I’ve written several health books and over forty health tracts in English, which have been translated into Spanish. I have also had a women’s ministry for several years and have conducted Christian women self-help classes. I’ve also been writing and sharing thoughts and ideas with Christian women on how to live a victorious life in Christ. My latest book, which is near completion, is Twenty-one Steps to becoming Victorious.

It’s been over thirty years since I became a Christian. As a newly born convert I was on fire for the Lord. Unfortunately, over time, I allowed the hot flame to die down to but a flicker. Over the passing years I turned out to be a roller-coaster Christian. Up and down! I would take a few steps toward Christ then take my eyes off of Him and falter, or sink down in the murky storm-driven waters like Peter when he took his eyes off of Christ. After a number of years being a Christian I discovered that I was having fewer and fewer victories in my Christian walk. One day, after much prayer, I knew that I could not continue on this path, which was slowly separating me from Christ. I wanted to become a Victorious woman in Christ. This of course is a work of a life time, and most of us grow by taking one step at a time. I hope that some of you will allow me to share with you what the Lord has been teaching me.

I’m sure that many of you reading this will agree with me that the Christian journey takes us down a narrow and bumpy path. It appears that everything in this world is diametrically opposed to the purposes of God for our lives. Our Christian walk is a march and a battle. The road ahead is not going to get any smoother or easier from here on until Jesus returns. If anything, it’s going to get more intense with every passing year and with each trial and test that crosses our path. But be of good courage for we are more than conquers through Christ who strengthens us! However, the victories won’t come easily or cheaply—but God has already provided victory for us through Christ. What a shame though that so few Christian women will strive for and claim this victory that Christ is offering to us because they believe it is impossible.

A number of years ago I realized that if I wanted victory in my life, it was going to be a fight. Victory is a fight! Faith is a fight! And if I was going to finish this Christian journey victoriously, I must fight the good fight of faith (just as Paul did) if I wanted eternal life. Through much prayer, studying the Word, and repeatedly falling on my face over and over for a number of years, it finally dawned on me that because the Christian life is a battle and a march I must train forbutterfly victory, but not in a casual, half hearted manner nor in a slothful way. I knew that I could not win with half-hearted attempts. I had to commit myself 100 percent to the battle that I was about to face. I had to die to self if I wanted to have victories in Christ.

So it is possible to have victories even though we live in a world filled with excitement and din. We can become women God wants us to be, but we need to recognize that some of our biggest battles are often the ones harboring inside of ourselves. The good, as well as bad inherited and cultivated tendencies may have been festering for years in many of us. Achieving genuine peace and joy can only come when we finally die to self and allow God to be the main focal point in our lives.

There are a number of good websites that have been established for the Christian woman, but as you surf through The Victorious Woman site, you will see that this site is different. Some sites are centered on trying to make you feel good about yourself, but the focal point of The Victorious Woman is not to add more fluff and spice to your life, but to give encouragement for the mental, physical and spiritual battles that butterflyChristian woman must face every day; to show you that you, too, can have victory in your life. This site is to encourage you to fully surrender; fight the good fight of faith, a faith that is the victory that overcomes the world! Remember faith comes by hearing and hearing by the words of God (Romans 10:17). It is my prayer that on the following pages you will find encouraging, uplifting words and advice and some positive thoughts that will help you in your daily growth towards Victory in Christ.
